Dadra & Nagar Haveli is well connected by road and Rail with rest of the country. The NH-8 provides the major road connectivity to the study area. With rapid Urbanization and industrial growth in Dadra & Nagar Haveli UT, the population and vehicles have increased rapidly in the recent past years. This resulted in traffic congestion in the urban areas. UT Administration has frequently initiated steps for betterment of heavy vehicular traffic plying in this UT and having appreciated the existing problems and constraints felt that there is a strong need for improvement of Infrastructure in Road Sector in a planned manner to meet the growing demand.

The Report provides information about the regulatory and economic context in which the Territory’s heavy vehicle industrial traffic operates. It addresses forecasts of future vehicle traffic and measures in place to manage heavy vehicle safety issues within the urban area of this UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The Taskforce has used the information gathered to assess potential risks and identify opportunities to improve road safety outcomes for all road users in UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

The term traffic safety refers to the risk of a person being killed or seriously injured while using the traffic network as a pedestrian, cyclist or user of public or private transport. The importance of traffic safety is obvious; traffic accounts for many deaths and injuries. According to the traffic department of UT, road traffic injuries caused an estimated 50 -60 deaths UT wide in a year. Measures can be taken in order to reduce the number of casualties and injuries greatly.

Most industrialized States & UTs have comprehensive requirements and specifications for safety-related vehicle devices, systems, design, and construction. These may include Passenger restraints such as seat belts often in conjunction with and airbags Crash avoidance equipment such as lights and reflectors Driver assistance systems such as Electronic Stability Control Crash survivability design including fire-retardant interior materials, standards for fuel system integrity, and the use of safety glass moderation detectors.

The department is inviting comments in this regard from expertise in the field so that the same can be adopted by the department and thus makes improvement in the traffic related issues.

SEPERATE HEAVY VEHICLES WITH WHOLESALE MARKETS AND CHANGE STANDARS, TIME , HOURS OF TRANSPORTATION. -->AUTO RIKSAWS AND TAXIS MUST HAVE PPP MODEL TO MANAGE THEM ACCORDING TO ROUTES OF SCHOOL, COLLEGES AND VOLUME OF PASSENGER REPORTS, ALSO CONNECTED WITH EMERGENCY HELPLINE TO STOP WOMEN ASSAULTS, CRIME AND GIVE TRAINING, ENCOURAGE SAFE DRIVING HABITS TO DRIVER AND MONITER WITH SOME PUBLIC LOCATIONS WITH THE HELP OF TRAFFIC POLICE.

TRAFFIC PROBLEM IS EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD AND INDIA TOO. ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT SHOULD STRICTLY TAKE ADVICE AND ACTION FROM TOWN, DISTRICT , SMART CITIES PLANNER --> 30% PEOPLE OF INDIA DOING NOTHING AND RIDING VEHICLE WITHOUT MEANING AND WITHOUT DRIVING LICENSE. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT FUEL PRICES AND CLIMATE CHANGE,POLLUTION.(MUST PUNISH THEM STRONG FINES) --> TRY TO DIVERT JOBS, MARKET, BUSINESSES TO UNDEVELOPED AREA WITH PROPER ORGANISING STRATEGIC LONG TERM PLAN --> -->

देश के भले के लिये आप कितनी भी अच्छी अच्छी योजनाये सोचे....कितनी भी बारीश क्यो न होने दो....अगर हर साल आबादी बढती ही गई तो ऐसी कितनी सारी योजनाये...कितनी सारी बारीश आये...कम ही पडेगी. बढती आबादी के कारण इस सारी योजनाये का कोई भी मतलब नही.

हमारा भारत एक "प्रगतीशील" राष्ट्र हैं. लेकीन हमारे देश की लोकसंख्या (आबादी) हर दिन बढते ही जा रही हैं. प्रिय प्रधानमंत्री जी आपको एक बिनती हैं की, इस देश की आबादी को काबू मे रखने के लिये कुछ तो ऐसा उपाय किजिये की...सारी समस्याये दूर हो सके. आबादी अगर बढती ही रही तो देश मी कौनसे भी पक्ष की सरकार आनें दो....देश सुधरेगा ही नही. पर्यावरण समस्या, महंगाई, गरिबी, भ्रष्टाचार, बेकारी, पानी की कमतरता...इत्यादी सारी समस्या का जड एक ही हैं "देश की बढती आबादी".

There has to be made a new regulation whereby all Heavy Traffic like Trucks, Trailers should be stopped over at scheduled parking yards out of UT and further the inflow of the goods can be brought in the city by means of electric vehicles or by vehicles of running on cleaner fuel like CNG. This way the Pollution, Trucking menace in the city would be tackled properly and also the evasion of taxes like VAT & CST can be handled without any corruption.

We should all stick to a lane system to enforce traffic. All offenders must be seriously punished (5000 rupees or 1 week Salary cut, whichever is higher) Hawkers must definitely not be on the footpaths. Parking should not be on the footpaths. Construction material should not be on the footpaths. All of these must attract fines. Hawker stalls must be set up to help poor displaced hawkers. Parking slots must be designated with time and payment options. Only then can we use roads well.

Hawkers have become permanent squatters who occupy pavement on busy streets and force pedestrians to risk their lives walking on the roads. How can KMC reward them with licence for vote bank politics. Shouldn't Municipalities work for the majority and the tax payers?
