Silk, the Queen of textiles, is adored by all for its sheer sheen, luster, elegance, class and comfort. It has several natural properties like natural sheen, inherent affinity for dyes and vibrant colours, light weight, resilience and excellent drape etc. which makes it distinct from all other fibers both natural and man-made. Though silk products are consumed more by urban rich, its production is highly employment oriented, low capital intensive and remunerative that churns out value added products of economic importance, especially the rural people.

India is the second largest producer of silk in the world and the silk industry provides employment to about 7.8 million people in the rural and semi-urban areas in the country. The women participation in various activities in silk value chain is about 54%. The silk always attracts competition from synthetic fibers, though which look like silk.

Share your ideas and opinions on how to increase the demand for Indian silk in the country as well as abroad by exploring new products, designs, markets, fashion, trends, promotion measures, target groups, etc.

What Govt is working on securing respectable medals in upcoming Olympic games ? If not yet started planning , still time is there, identify sports persons , identify trainers and mentors, provide world class training, incur 100 crore per medal to secure, we want 125 crore Indians a respectable medals tally in world rank. Please please don't send a lean team to Olympics. send a powerful team , heavy team suitable to represent and earn medals for 125 crore Indians.

Two talking points for ur next MKB. 1) Sad that only 8686 LPG users out of 15 cr have forgone fuel subsidy voluntarily. This needs 2 change for at least those with income of more than 5L. It will not only mean less subsidy but will also end the culture of entitlements. Pl talk about this 2) I dread the day when the adulation of 125 cr Indians affects U. I pray that it doesn’t happen. For the sake of 100 cr poor Indians, don’t lose your humility/focus. We have been cheated many times in the past.

Like the Insurance policies for Diabetic patients, can we have a special policy with Low premium for Smoking and Gutka eating people which is lower than the normal premium levels. However, it would demand a mandatory blood test for nicotine substances every month to increase or decrease the premium level. Only people with known history of smoking or Gutka consumptions will have the access to the same.

GOI is giving around 3% incentive on export of Soya Meal / Soya De-oiled Cake. A highly protein rich agri produce. India produce only 5% of world production of Soyabean. India export around 30 to 40 lacs MT Soyameal a cheapest source of protein. We should use+ in midday meal etc.to overcome the problem of mall nutrition & encourage use. As a first step GOI should discontinue any kind of incentive on export of this Agri product & save around Rs.400 crore.
