Silk, the Queen of textiles, is adored by all for its sheer sheen, luster, elegance, class and comfort. It has several natural properties like natural sheen, inherent affinity for dyes and vibrant colours, light weight, resilience and excellent drape etc. which makes it distinct from all other fibers both natural and man-made. Though silk products are consumed more by urban rich, its production is highly employment oriented, low capital intensive and remunerative that churns out value added products of economic importance, especially the rural people.

India is the second largest producer of silk in the world and the silk industry provides employment to about 7.8 million people in the rural and semi-urban areas in the country. The women participation in various activities in silk value chain is about 54%. The silk always attracts competition from synthetic fibers, though which look like silk.

India has good opportunities for cotton, silk but there is no clear cut chance of development. Each Khadi business should be connected with fashion designers and try to make more appealing garments. People hardly understand the quality of cloth, they are more oriented to fashion. If government links small cotton, slik businesses with fashion industries, this will good for indian economy, small employees and enhance exports. Without this, indian garments can't be popular.

The resources of India, It could be silk, or any man made products, there are good marketing required to export out side India. The quality of the products never compromised. When you observe International market, such as Newyork, Toronto,London, Paris, those countries cold weather required right garments of wool products. One standard wool jacket market price could be $ 400, ready to pay if it is worth.Duplicate Rexene made garments very common. Also finished products of various sizes matters.

Respected PM Sir defence forces and indian companies be asked to adopt villages for development.Army can train those villagers and later employ those people in the army.Similarly companies be encouraged to adopt villages and employ the youth of that village. This will bring better participation from villagers.Modern godowns with the help of BARC or other technologies be created to store agricultural produce.Army can take from them.It will create ermployment and bring efficiency and stop wastage.
