I BELIEVE THAT IN ORDER TO MAKE OUR SILK MORE POPULAR, WE NEED TO LOOK INTO WHAT ARE THE COMPETITORS OUT THERE IN THE MARKET. ANALYSE THOSE PRODUCTS AND OBSERVE THE REASON BEHIND WHY OUR SILK IS NOT IN DEMAND. AND THEN TAKE THE PROPER ACTION TO MAKE OUR SILK BEST QUALITY SILK IN THE COUNTRY AND ABROAD....AND IF WE ARE ABLE TO PROVE THIS AUTOMATICALLY THE PURCHASE WILL INCREASE.... AND THEN WHEN IT COMES TO ADVERTISING OUR SILK, I DON'T SEE A MUCH BETTER OPTION THAN TAKING HELP OF BOLLYWOOD STARS

In 2 steps: introduce a law that no citizen should be forced by company rule to observe western dress code, automatically demand for ethnic clothes and hence silk increases, competition will increase quality leading to foreign purchase, 2nd idea little bold, if models/musicians/actresses/actors are roped in to wear ethnic garments, esp international ones, perhaps of the Jewish community?

Use technology. Bring new apps and online trade website (if you are specially promoting the silk products) and make it in the top search list if anybody searching for silk products (mentions India and abroad). But, make the website and apps popular by giving more proper as well as very good commercial advertisements. Otherwise, no use to think about this concept.

Better branding with government showrooms named 'Resham'. Trained staff, spacious and aesthetic interiors. Merchandise needs to be well presented. Different store brands according to price lines. Associate top designers with top-end product-lines. Expanding product lines from traditional clothing to contemporary attire for both males and females. Observing an ethnic wear day in government institutions to promote Indian cottage industries. Selling products online internationally.

1) It should b made mandatory to include silk products in fashion shows organizd in india.
2) Indian govt. should support these industries for advertisements.
3) Not only saree's but India should design western dresses too with these silk and online purchase should b made available & easy.
4) The quality of these products should be increased and rate should be fixed throughout India.
5) Advertisement of western manufactured products should b decreased & Indian products should be increased
