Silk, the Queen of textiles, is adored by all for its sheer sheen, luster, elegance, class and comfort. It has several natural properties like natural sheen, inherent affinity for dyes and vibrant colours, light weight, resilience and excellent drape etc. which makes it distinct from all other fibers both natural and man-made. Though silk products are consumed more by urban rich, its production is highly employment oriented, low capital intensive and remunerative that churns out value added products of economic importance, especially the rural people.

India is the second largest producer of silk in the world and the silk industry provides employment to about 7.8 million people in the rural and semi-urban areas in the country. The women participation in various activities in silk value chain is about 54%. The silk always attracts competition from synthetic fibers, though which look like silk.

Share your ideas and opinions on how to increase the demand for Indian silk in the country as well as abroad by exploring new products, designs, markets, fashion, trends, promotion measures, target groups, etc.

When petrol and diesel price were increased, it had an effect of increasing prices on every other items which were using petrol and diesel such as transport , even rail fare , electricity cost and every one increase prices who were using diesel and petrol for their goods. Now since prices has come down no electricity company , public transport companies or railway have reduced their price. In fact no one reduce price once it is increased. i CAN NOT COMPLETE MY SENTENCE DUE TO LIMIT.SEE NEXT

while selecting assistants/clerks in bank/insurance industry only B.A.B.Com/M.Com candidates should be preferred because these candidates have not any opportunity of jobs and they will do their job sincerely higher educatedpeople i.e. Msc/MBA/C.A./B.E. graduates will not remain there for long time this point should be noted and guideline to that effect should be given to bank/insurance management I hope so

Follow what Chinese did in 1990.They started exploiting and using SUNDAY MARKET concept in EUROPE and put their stall everywhere and started selling things much cheaper then those similar were available in Big Stores.Sunday Market have more then 20% market share in Europe.Because of competition ,The big store started getting same goods from China as their sale was going down by Sunday market competition and that how now in every Europe store you will see China make goods in majority.FOLLOW THAT

Recently I observed that there has been many advertisements for recruitment of assistant/clerks in bank/insurance industry and after conducting examination/oral etc. they are selecting higher educated people for the post of clerks/assistant such as Msc graduate/C.A. /M.B.A. graduate which is not appropriate because those people will not remain i that post for long time because they get higher pay scale job then they will vacate the said post but if we post B.A.B.Com/M.Com graduates for c.

Ahimsa silk ( a way of getting silk without killing them) need to be encouraged. There are nearly one crore government employees and their dependents. allowing Rs.10000/- per government employee soft loan (less then 3% annual interest) will jumpstart the demand.

I would like to suggest that The Old programs run by tha GOI such as WEAVES should be brought between public. I would suggest public private partnership so that it can help silk as well as sarees the tradition of india gain popularity. Rather than running Programmes Govt must go for creating Brand image for Silk along with Make In India campaign. Silk for India is important industry as if once it gains popularity it would help us bring enormous foreign exchange. I am connected wid this industry
