The Government of lndia has launched an ambitious "Smart Cities Mission" to promote cities that provide core infrastructure and a good quality of life to its citizens, a clean and sustainable environment with the application of 'Smart' Solutions'. The Government of India have identified Warangal as one of the 100 cities to participate for the smart city challenge.

In this context, the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) is in the process of preparing the Smart City Proposal. The GWMC seeks valuable suggestions of the citizens to formulate the vision for the Smart City Warangal.

A strategic vision shapes a preferred future for a city. A successful vision has economic, spatial, social and environmental dimensions that reflect a city’s unique physical and cultural traits; it provides direction for the activities of the Corporation, citizens and stakeholders; and ensures that citizens, city agencies, and stakeholders are working towards those shared sub-goals. The vision statement should inspire our city’s residents and can even become the branding for our smart city.

The Smart City Advisory Forum of Warangal shall evaluate the vision statement and award the best three entries.

We will effectively put our Resources to the betterment of our citizens by adopting suitable energy saving techniques; efficient transportation, water supply & drainage system; effective waste management system; leverage upon the digital platform to control crimes & corruption; create public friendly spaces in the forms of Green Zones, Cultural Zones etc on a sustainable basis.

Promoting mixed land use in area-based developments — planning for ‘unplanned areas’ containing a range of compatible activities and land uses close to one another in order to make land use more efficient. (2) Housing and inclusiveness — expand housing opportunities for all; (3) Creating walkable localities

The plan of “smart city” programs, towers use and combine residential, business and commercial functions, which are divided internally. This is opposed to the need for an additional transport and cuts the city’s emissions from fuel city.

It should improve on traffic discipline. For improving the traffic discipline, traffic barriers for any wrong side traffic need to be created. Auto automated fine system should be started. Further, for business improvement e-commerce need to be promoted. City should promote public transport and build metro

हमारे शहर भोपाल की भी कुछ अलग पहचान है, जैसे सांस्कृतिक विरासत, प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य, स्थानीय रीति-रिवाज आदि । हमारे शहर का अद्भुत प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य है, चाहे मनुआभान टेकरी को देखिये या शहर की झीलों या पहाड़ियों को इस शहर की पहचान है । अगर रीति रिवाजों की बात करें तो हमारी गंगा-जमुनी तहजीब ही हमारी पहचान है। इसी तरह हमारा शहर अपनी सांस्कृतिक और पुरातात्विक विरासत को लगातार सहेजे हुए है। उसे स्मार्ट सिटी में सजाया संवारा जाये ताकि हमारी धरोहर संरक्षित रह सके ।
