students from grade 8 upwards may be allowed to choose a skill/ vocation of their choice which will bring about an outcome of starting on their own. This will help children become proficient in one area so that they become self sufficient and self reliant and have a skill which will become useful in getting jobs or starting on their own. Carpentry, sewing, shoe making, cooking, beauty, electrician, plumbing, masonry etc. Certificates must be given so that they can get jobs.

Children to be given varied scope of skill development choices to that they could opt for varied skill development that enables the child to make appropriate decisions for oneself. But this should go hand in hand with the elementary education, propoer mainstream education should not be sidelined. appropriate residential facilties to be provided with good standards of care to enable access to remote villages/parents migrating for work
