Such students (not doing well upto class VIII) should not be subjected to excruciating syllabus of present day class 9 and 10. Rather the language and maths of class 6 to 8 be repeated and in addition vocational courses in associations with local farms, cottage Industry should be offered as additional subject. Something like ITI course for 4 years till class 12.

I was stunned to note that the Honb'le education ministers of state govt denouncing no detention policy upto class VIII. How can a child be declared failure? Yes he might have weakness especially in letters and numbers, but what about his usefulness to society, if he is capable of farming, digging wells for drinking water, his ability to serve the sick, climbing tree to pluck the fruits. We have to teach him so that he improves his performance in whatever he does after he is out of school.

There are unemployment even in techncially trained people like engineers and ITIs.Giving skills is not enough,we need to develop capability to act. Students should learn to deal in variety of real life situations. On the Job training in industry is of limited use, it has limitation. We must provide community services through vocational schools. They should become production/service centers and provide service to community. This will also ensure curriculum will remain updated with community need.

For Indians and India to prosper, it is necessary that long-term planning of education and training should allow 90-95 percent of the population to learn a skill, a trade or a competence. In fast developing nations such as China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and developed countries — Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, UK, Australia, Canada — this is the reality. At any given time, at least 5 percent of the total population should be receiving some sort of VET.

There is one beauty of current education system: Uniformity from class 1 to degree. Doesn't matter at what level you leave study, you are totally blank to build up your life based upon the books you have taught.

Some of us have very good memorizing skills, they beat everyone and get government jobs where they utilized their memorizing skills in different way (corruption).

When I was in school, we had carpentry, weaving and typewriting courses as part of work experience in high school section. Likewise, we should be having various courses and classes including electrical wiring, motor winding, repairing household articles etc. We should get good traditional blacksmiths, carpenters etc to take demonstrative classes for the school students. Likewise, persons from industrial worker groups should be asked to take classes as part of CSR.

Vocational education should be integral part of our education system. Our schools should be empowered with teachers who practice art & design as well as craft. We have a big youth population which can easily be trained in required vocational areas. Our inability to incorporate vocational education in main stream education platform has resulted into unemployment and many other social problems. It is high time that we see vocational education as a tool for social and economic up-liftment of nation

this is what need to strengthen with good pace. As we do not have resources to make all scholars, so we need to drop many students at different levels, but those should be given an extraordinary vocational training to make them skilled. And vocational education should be 100% practical training.

From I- XII std, we should not give trade based vocational training. NCF2005 suggested to integrated work and Education. We should have minimum 20% of school time for involving students in the productive work in their community. School must have workshop with essential tools For e.g repair and maintenance of community infrastructure, cleanliness etc. They should be taught relevant skills for providing services to their community. They must be introduced with curricular concept around the work.
