Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

PM should launch a wonderful initiative to set in motion to revamp the judicial system to speed up all the cases .... drastically bring down pendency of cases. This will be a highly visible initiative and will come as a breath of fresh air to Indian public - will be so widely appreciated! Hope an apt title can be named for this initiative - it will immortalize this NDA government indeed. To begin with, the Supreme Court can direct all to add a time-frame to cases according to some criteria.

Almost all the comments and discussions at last come to a big "IF..." What is the big "IF" ? "If cases are processed quickly or faster" This highlights the most disappointing and weakest aspect of Indian judicial system. Today when we talk of justice...going to a court automatically brings up the image of "court ka chakkar kaat-they kaat-they defendant ya accused old age ke vajah se mar gaya..." HIGHLIGHTING THE FACT "JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED"

Similar to "Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan" PM should launch "Footpath Mukt Abhiyaan". Simple objective: make all our cities beautiful - "clear the footpath and roadsides of all encroachment". This needs only will power from municipal authorities, police and public should avoid transactions with encroaching hawkers.

In all our cities, especially so in Mumbai, encroachment is a rewarding activity. Eventually a development plan comes and these encroachers are labelled "project affected people" and rehabilitated with flats and amenities. This is not wrong in itself, but the message goes out that "if I can build a hut illegally and manage to stay in it long enough by paying 'hafta' to authorities, then I eventually stand to gain lakhs of rupees through a flat allotted to me in future". So Mumbai is a magnet!

From the many cities that I have seen first-hand or through pictures, we can immediately recognize Indian cities from its haphazard layouts, encroachments, filth and slums. Our PM has rightly attacked the filth aspect with the timely Swachh Bharat abhiyaan. However a more difficult aspect that remains to be tackled is the encroachment of public and other spaces. Almost all Indian cities have this problem and we seem to be failing in getting to a proper root-cause solution to it- worth a thought!

Special lady police team should be aetuped with well trained in karate,kun-fu and should be well equipped with gun n should be able to ride racing bikes. CCTV cameras should be setuped at every place and group of this special police officers must vigil constantly in every assigned area who will reach the spot within fraction of seconds to save the victim. Secondly, many more cabs with martial arts trained lady drivers should be launched which provide service to working women round the clock.

The punishment for rape and acid attack should be tough as in UAE so that a person should not dare to do the crime. And the criminal cases should get over faster.

I was following the discussion on the Nirbhaya case on NDTV and liked Kiran Bedi's idea of auditing the judiciary. It will be nice to bring in accountability to the court system. On a related note, what does it take for the Supreme court to take up the fast tracked Nirbhaya case to completion? Why is there no pressure on the court to act on this case.
