Significance: Draft National Youth Policy (NYP) is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serves to ‘unlock the potential of the youth to advance India’. Each priority area is underpinned by the principle of social inclusion keeping in view the interests of the marginalized sections.

Key Draft National Youth Policy About: The Draft National Youth Policy (NYP) envisages a ten-year vision for youth development that India seeks to achieve by 2030. Associate Ministry: Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Sports is responsible for drafting and implantation of the Draft National Sports Policy. Objectives: The draft NYP seeks to catalyze widespread action on youth development across five priority areas viz.- #Education; # Employment & entrepreneurship; # Youth leadership & development; # Health, fitness & sports; and # Social justice.

The Department of Youth Affairs has sought the comments/views/suggestions on the draft NYP from all stakeholders. It has been informed that these comments & suggestions on the new draft policy may be sent within 45 days.

Youth development has been one of the primary agendas of the government. However, experts believe that a new policy dedicated to the youth might contribute to their overall development. In my state and colleges no teacher/ professor take responsibility.... They saw their own benefits only ..... They don't care about the students..... So please first Stop it ....

Khelo India Games can be linked with the qualification for Olympics/Common Wealth Games. With so much of youth, we can actually make Khelo India Games as a preliminary qualification cum training and those who excel in these can be sent to Olympics, etc., i.e., other international tournaments. We see so many medals won by Japan, China, the US and even Russia but India always manages to scrape not even a handful. Sports schools can be established and their schooling should not be compromised. Education should result in the development of all aspects of life, not just academics. The curricula should be in relation to art/skill subjects. Schools must mandatorily offer atleast 5+ Skill courses. Or else develop separate institutions for teaching skill courses to the youth and integrate them in the regular schooling. And please for the youth's sake don't play religion and caste politics, in sports, arts and other skill courses' institution admissions saying on papers that India is secular.
