Meerut a Historical city well known for 1857 freedom struggle. A second largest cantonment, centre for manufacturing export quality sports goods, musical instruments, scissors, jewellery making and impressive hub of printing press and power looms. A city of highly reputed educational institutes, universities, engineering colleges and health facilities.
Meerut being located in NCR region provides great opportunity for construction industries and a very rich source of highly skilled, semi-skilled human resource, a big distribution centre for agriculture produce, these all provide a great potential in economical development and high level of living standard. Meerut has a great potential to become a smart city in real sense.
Meerut has been selected under “Smart City Round -2” All citizens of Meerut are requested kindly to participate actively in all citizens’ engagement process so that a right place of Meerut the goal of smart city is achieved
Nagar Nigam Meerut invites all its citizens to participate and give their innovative ideas to become Meerut Smart City. Citizen & stakeholders are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to the proposal till 25th June 2016.

Meerut has a glorious past. It is full of opportunities. we have to channelize them. Some Suggestions... Meerut should be free from encroachment. There should be extra police vigilance on streets. Tourism of this area to be promoted on a organized manner. A domestic airport is required. flyovers, Subways and parking areas are required. Hand cart and Animal Cart's movement on main roads to be restricted between 7 pm to 9 am in morning. cleanliness must.

proud to be living in meerut it is very beautiful but have some problems faced by us everyday. the main problem is trafic jam and cleaning of city.. at the side of happur ad, there is so much rush , so that it is very difficult to cross the road and the garbage is not properly clean..pls do some action.

Many of people travel to Delhi everyday but what is the facilities have been provided by both Central or State government. In evening after 07:00 you can not find the buses at Anand Vihar and Kehmiri Gate, there is no train service available at peak hours. In the city, you can find every where of E-Rickshaw, which has stopped the speed of city. Administrator should try to deploy smart taxies or transport until and unless to depend over meaningless vehicles.
