Respected PM and the associated group. We should look at the complete value cycle from Silk production to buyer thru market. Here I suggest a few steps:
1. Reduce the cost by bringing in direct to market facility.
2. Encourage the designer's/manufacturer's of silk products by giving them some taxation rebates.
3. Build "Indian Silk" as a brand for promotion in India and Abroad.
4. Also- giving importance to the trend " Do it Yourself",allow buyers to customize their orders & build interest.

Share with people the advantages of wearing the fabric. How is it different from the other fabrics and what it represents in itself.
Maybe design could be another factor that is an hindrance for these products. Seeing how a product might satisfy a use is a great way to start.

Ask Film Industry and Film Stars to endorse and use silk in different ways to attract youth and others. I have seen in years that a Hit Movie decides latest trend of apparels in market.

Showcasing our silk product to the world, appreciate if PM, MPs & VVIP start wearing the silk to promote it. This will definitely draw world attention towards the silks. We need to brand the product.
This will help the World to notice it & I am sure you will see lot of demand coming.
We can also celebrate Silk Day in Parliament during the winter session. It just matter of drawing people attention towards product.

big brands should produce more apparels of silk fabric, as now more fabric seen in big shops and brands are cotton which has been much popular amongst people so if people will see silk items they would like to try.
Secondly, in place like India specially where TV has more emphasis on common people's living style, film industries can promote best of it.

Reduce the price.
Variety of colors should be there..As there are very few colors in silk cloth..
Silk products should come in modern design..and westerb dress code..

Silk is a high maintenance product...mostly dry cleaning is necessary. If silk is made such that it can be easily washed & ironed at home it would be convenient. I live overseas where laundry facilities for Indian clothing is not available therefore if silk is made washable at home it would be affordable & easy. Thanks.
