My humble 1st thought is, that we have to make it more accessable to the great Indian middle-class, in terms of availability & prices. The designer fraternity who run India fashion week etc AND the big names like pantaloon, jabong & the likes, should take ownership of marketing & selling these. Say something like the iphone 'dhamaka'. Rise in sale would be exponential.

As we all know India is one of the major producer of silk in the world. Silk being one of the costliest product it will not be affordable to by silk product by most of the citizens of India. Mix silk with other clothing products like cotton, jute, lenin and other fabrics so that it can be used by common citizens of India.
As silk is now designed mainly in traditional pattern now it should be designed in casual wear which will help India to increase the export demand for the product.

The Mumbai Local is highly loaded. People travel in the same way how animals are taken to the slaughter houses. Though Bullet train is great, we need to decrease passengers/train in peak hours. Do something. I never see anything offerred to Mumbai in any of the rail budget. Please do something on this front.

To increase the demand for Indian silk products its very important to make it trendy and comfortable. We cannot create demand among youth with same traditional weaving patterns, need to add versatility to it. Have efficient designers from NIFT or higly acclaimed institutes to design the material; if Fab India can sell stuff at a higher price; why not our state emporiums. Have a textile and design expert in emporiums to boom the sale. Make it environment friendly, not only specific to winters!

We should create brand for silk products and then people will feel proud to were silk material.Silk industry needs to change their product style. they can add some moderate products and also a verity of range. also there can be interactive advertisement on TV, Internet Media for silk products. make people aware how silk is wonderful than other materials.
Online sale would help people to get their choice in cart.

The silk weavers are the most forgotten lot in the country. Please encourage them to form a cooperative on the lines of Amul and know that cooperation is the only solution for a country like India. The cooperative federalism concept mooted by Mr. Modi is the best option. The Indian Silk Federation can be created on the lines of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF known as Amul) shall be the solution. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. The wheel is Amul.
