Silk, the Queen of textiles, is adored by all for its sheer sheen, luster, elegance, class and comfort. It has several natural properties like natural sheen, inherent affinity for dyes and vibrant colours, light weight, resilience and excellent drape etc. which makes it distinct from all other fibers both natural and man-made. Though silk products are consumed more by urban rich, its production is highly employment oriented, low capital intensive and remunerative that churns out value added products of economic importance, especially the rural people.

India is the second largest producer of silk in the world and the silk industry provides employment to about 7.8 million people in the rural and semi-urban areas in the country. The women participation in various activities in silk value chain is about 54%. The silk always attracts competition from synthetic fibers, though which look like silk.

awareness and marketing. First and foremost is to change the people's mind set. Similar to Khadi - connect silk sale directly to socio-economic upliftment of farmers. Encourage farmers with good incentive. If farmers are poor and cannot take their material directly to market. Then amul like cooperative should be planned, Make Indian Khadi and Silk a status symbol. "Pehenna Khadi aur Silk ka Kapda, Ho Jan-Manush ka Sapna". Bring reviving dying industry like weavers etc. under CSR.

WE HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING ON INITIATIVE ON INDUSTRIAL HUBS, IT PARKS, RAILWAY FREIGHT CORRIDOR, GANGA CLEANING, INTERLINKING OF RIVERS, 100 SMART CIITES NAMES, INITIATIVES ON AGRICULTURE, SME REVIVAL PLAN, 24X7X365 DAYS ELECTRICITY NOTHING. WE NEED TO HAVE ROAD MAP OF ALL THE PENDING POLICIES, MATTERS, LAWS READY WITH US TO CREATE WORLD CLASS INFRASTRUCTURE. I DONOT KNOW WHAT IS GOVT. WAITING FOR NOW. I THINK MONEY IS NOT THERE. BUT SIR TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR NOW.

GOVT. HAS TO FOCUS ON AGRICULTURE, MANUFACTURING, INFRASTRUCTURE. PLEASE DONOT DEPEND ON FDI, FII, FOREGN COUNTRIES, WE NEED TO GENERATE OUR OWN RESOURCES LOCALLY AND KICK START THE ECONOMY TO GROW AT 10% IN A YEAR'S TIME. FOR THAT WE NEED VERY FAST ACTION BY GOVT. EXAMPLE: SLOW ACTION BY GOVT. NO ACTION ON DELHI GOVT. FOR LAST 5 MONTHS.

THERE ARE MANY M.P'S AND MANY BUREACRATS WHO ARE NOT DECLARING THEIR ASSETS TILL TODAY. WHY GOVT. IS NOT STRICTLY HANDLING THIS. GOVT. IS NOT EVEN ABLE TO VACCATE GOVT. BUNGLOWS, THIS SHOWS HOW WEAK OUR SYSTEM IS.

THERE IS ABOUT 200 LACS CRORES OF BLACK MONEY IN THE COUNTRY AND THE SAME FIGURE IS OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY, WHAT STEPS GOVT. IS TAKING TO STOP BLACK MONEY GENERATION AND ALSO TO GET BLACK MONEY IN GOVT. TREASURY. WE NEED STRICT LAWS FOR INCOME TAX, AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO MONITORING IN INCOME TAX CASES, RETURNS.

The silk product identification and available products of the identified areas is to be marked and along with relationship with Self Help Groups and cultivators of silk is to be united in joint platform for attractive people to more uses of silks and its adventures with the concern departments specially thorough stalls,seminar sand workshops.
