Silk, the Queen of textiles, is adored by all for its sheer sheen, luster, elegance, class and comfort. It has several natural properties like natural sheen, inherent affinity for dyes and vibrant colours, light weight, resilience and excellent drape etc. which makes it distinct from all other fibers both natural and man-made. Though silk products are consumed more by urban rich, its production is highly employment oriented, low capital intensive and remunerative that churns out value added products of economic importance, especially the rural people.

India is the second largest producer of silk in the world and the silk industry provides employment to about 7.8 million people in the rural and semi-urban areas in the country. The women participation in various activities in silk value chain is about 54%. The silk always attracts competition from synthetic fibers, though which look like silk.

Share your ideas and opinions on how to increase the demand for Indian silk in the country as well as abroad by exploring new products, designs, markets, fashion, trends, promotion measures, target groups, etc.

India Govt. can plan and start up websites (e-commerce will take care worldwide market) and also open outlets in all major cities with good publicity about the quality & price of products The quality of the silk products should also be verified before selling through this outlets as Govt. is also indirectly involved : The pricing for online sales should be Production Cost+ Profit (including admin cost) however for Retail outlets should be Production Cost+Profit+Rent+Salary+Maintenance

One major thing which has many times striked my mind that we have huge consumption of artificial fibre blended fabrics i.e. use of acryllic, polyester, nylon fibres etc which has an impact to certain extent on environment this is where goverment should have some regulation in a way that blended fabrics should be used for low end fabrics as we have huge middle class sector and high end fabrics using the blend should be banned than only silk, bamboo.egyptian cotton will have boost

A tie-up venture with major clothing brands needs to be created for silk based clothing. A special focus here needs to be paid to brands that have both national and international presence e.g. Zara, Desigual, Tommy Hilfiger etc. A network of silk production systems in India needs to be then designed which would be having direct crosstalk with these big brands. A direct supply of silk based raw material to factories that create clothes for these brands would unable demand of Indian silk.

Speaking of Road safety. The most important aspect is abiding rules but a very important aspect is Road design to effectively route traffic in different directions. Also digitization of driving licensing and tougher test for the licensing as in western and middle eastern countries. Compulsory theory rules classes and practical classes with strict exams.

Respected Prime minister Sir, continuing with our country's efforts regarding the Swach Bharat Abhiyaan, I had thought of one slogan which I thought of sharing in this forum. The slogan is " Swach Bharat Swasth Bharat" I am not sure someone else would have suggested this slogan already. If not please give a thought....regards
