Silk, the Queen of textiles, is adored by all for its sheer sheen, luster, elegance, class and comfort. It has several natural properties like natural sheen, inherent affinity for dyes and vibrant colours, light weight, resilience and excellent drape etc. which makes it distinct from all other fibers both natural and man-made. Though silk products are consumed more by urban rich, its production is highly employment oriented, low capital intensive and remunerative that churns out value added products of economic importance, especially the rural people.

India is the second largest producer of silk in the world and the silk industry provides employment to about 7.8 million people in the rural and semi-urban areas in the country. The women participation in various activities in silk value chain is about 54%. The silk always attracts competition from synthetic fibers, though which look like silk.

Share your ideas and opinions on how to increase the demand for Indian silk in the country as well as abroad by exploring new products, designs, markets, fashion, trends, promotion measures, target groups, etc.

There are about 15000Kms length of canals for irrigation. Out of this say 50% canals are in embankments having slop areas of about 4500 Hectares suitable for mulberry plantation the basis of Sericulture. If the raw material is available cheap and assured then the cost of the production will reduce to great extent, be resulting in increase in sale at any market. Use of shuttle less looms is the need of an hour but Present Khadi Board is main obstacle. The same is true with Honey and even Neera.

This post is regarding traffic system. Traffic system needs to be improved. Red light should be eliminated and U turn or round about system should be implemented wherever it is possible or This will save lot of maintenance cost of electricals/ bulbs/ polls and manpower . Traffic will move without disturbance.

Sir, you start wearing silk. I was so surprised during my recent visit to India to see that the clothes you wear are in big demand. Even the young generation is keen to wear what you wear Sir. I spoke to number of Khadi Gram Udyog people and they told me that their sales went up by 400% since you became the Prime Minister. That's amazing numbers. People follow what their leaders do. So simple and best way to promote Silk is You start wearing silk and the nation will follow you Sir

My concern is regarding "nursery admission" in Delhi. The guidelines from the govt should have a staggered distance criteria so that people staying closer to the school get admission in the nearest school. This will help in avoiding unnecessary traveling of small children in school buses or private vans which are places where Instances of CHILD ABUSE have taken place recently. Also there will be less congestion on the roads. Pls look into this as children are the foundation for a strong INDIA.

Australia Respected Sir, Couple of things which I would like to bring to your attention. 1. Families with 3 siblings (1 boy, 2 girls), with boy being Australian Citizen he can not have his family(Parents) migrate here permanently because of having only 34% which does not balances. Parents are senior citizens, more than 65 yrs. of age. 2. Contributory visa fees is way too much for mother and father, each costing more than $40,000. 3. Please discuss if parents be granted 10 year visas.
