residents to increase the housing density over time. 9. use of cable cars to serve informal hill settlements has been found to be environmentally beneficial. 10. urban sanitation can be improved, by increasing the no. of public toilets & by providing assistance of some form (maybe technical) in construction of toilets to the low-income housing. studies have shown that bad sanitation leads to stunted growth of children. aside, we know that poor sanitation is an important preventable cause CONT

Provide tax cuts to buildings re-building themselves with green initiatives. 4. in an effort to reduce waste, it has earlier been tried to charge taxes as per amount of waste, but that only lead to illegal open dumping of waste 5. BRTS: faster bus travel, less fuel consumption, more profit to buses, faster commute to passengers, encouraging even more to go by public transport. 6. public infrastructure which can help people living close by to walk or cycle. e.g. cycling lanes, footpaths, CONT

1. electricity rate relief for those installing solar water heaters, not only in urban areas, but also in towns and villages. Easy EMIs for solar water heater purchases. 2. green certifications for companies with different star rating, and accordingly different slabs of tax relief. 3. Taxes and subsidies, as in above two points should be tweaked to encourage green initiatives. e.g. remove tax policies which might encourage city dwellers to stay far and commute longer distances everyday. Its a great opportunity for the nations blessed with vast coastline, to harness offshore wind to the extent it is feasible. Like Germany, India too has great opportunity and potential to harness wind energy across its vast coastline of 7500 km https://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20140630145011-47810146-offshore-wind-energy-in-germany?trk=vsrp_influencer_content_res_name&trkInfo=VSRPsearchId%3A1477995711408306662745%2CVSRPtargetId%3A5889385028479123456%2CVSRPcmpt%3Aprimary

ROOFTOP ENERGY HARVESTING : promote tapping the solar energy which is going waste in every household , apartment , private building . That tapped energy can be used for the day to day use . If u r producing more energy than needed, great news . make smart grids so that the the enegry can be bought by the powercompany to pay the coustomers who are producing excess . If country who doesnt have sunshine half of the year can tap this potential why not india which has 365 days of sunshine

Here are my 10 point ideas for a Clean Green and Better India. It can be achieved by involving all the necessary but ignored sections of our society like cobblers, plumbers, electricians, veterinary students, agriculture students and so on... These workers can be appointed by the GOI to work for each community and the Students in respective fields can be asked to take on a necessary project in their fields. Detailed ideas are in my work.
